The Mission
Blood Cancer United is dedicated to curing blood cancer and improving the quality of life for patients and their families through research, patient support and advocacy.
Since 1949, Blood Cancer United has invested more than $1.8 billion in pioneering cancer research worldwide and remains a leading source of free education, resources and support for blood cancer patients and their families.
What is Visionaries of the Year?
Visionaries of the Year is a 10-week, nationwide philanthropic campaign that brings together business and community leaders to accelerate funding for blood cancer research and patient programs.
Since its launch in 1990, the campaign has raised more than $500 million nationally, supporting life-saving breakthroughs and critical care initiatives.
Candidates build teams, engage their professional networks and compete to raise the most funds in honor of local blood cancer survivors, known as Honored Heroes.
Why Blood Cancer Research Matters
Breakthroughs in blood cancer research frequently lead to treatments for other cancers and immune-related diseases. Because blood cancers are closely tied to the immune system, discoveries in this field often pave the way for advancements across oncology.
